Looking beyond the recession
In the past year, many nonprofits have had to cut staff, programs, and expenses in an attempt to weather the economic storm. And many funders now project cutbacks in support, well into 2010 and probably beyond.

The National Center on Nonprofit Enterprise (NCNE) is partnering with the Foundation Center to deliver four webinars. These are designed to help nonprofits survive the aftershocks of the recession and build more sustainable organizations. This new webinar series is called Turning Economic Crisis Into Opportunity, How Nonprofits Can Survive and Emerge Stronger. It comprises four 90 minute webinars.

The first series has just concluded and has been very well received: around 90% thought that each webinar was excellent or good; "Just finished the Foundation Center webinar series you presented. They were all excellent—great job!" was a typical comment. The next series is in early December:

Assessing Your Nonprofit's Financial Health, Tuesday, December 1.

Survival Strategies for Your Nonprofit, Thursday, December 3.

Strengthening Your Nonprofit's Income Portfolio, Tuesday, December 8.

Beyond the Recession: Building Sustainability, Thursday, December 10.

As well as the opportunity to participate in the webinar, you will receive the presentation slides, details of a case study, and other resources available as downloadable handouts to help you improve your organization's ability to develop long-term sustainability.

The webinar presenter is Richard Brewster, Executive Director of NCNE.

Each webinar costs $45, but if you register for all four webinars by October 14, you’ll pay $135 instead of $180.
