Knowledge Base

Development has begun of what we plan to be NCNE's signature service. Our aim over the next two to three years is to develop a Knowledge Base in which we will gather in one place on the new web site all the material and advice and guidance that has been made available on any topic that relates to resources - how you raise and use them efficiently and effectively. Our network of the best thinkers on nonprofit management will assess which of this material is most likely to make a positive difference in practice, and we will make the results of this assessment available in practical and easily applicable forms to nonprofit managers and consultants. Topics will include: Business Planning by Nonprofits, Fundraising, Earned Income and Social Enterprise, Understanding and Managing Costs and Developing a Resource Strategy. Much of this work will be done by members of faculty and students at our Institutional Consortium members – University Nonprofit Academic Centers, Schools of Public Policy and Business Schools around the country. They will be supported by senior practicing nonprofit managers, members of our Practice Advisory Council.
