NCNE offers two presentations, both delivered by Executive Director Richard Brewster:
The Nonprofit Entrepreneur. This presentation explores the central ideas contained in the notion of "entrepreneur" and how these can be fruitfully applied to a nonprofit program work, income generation and leadership.
Social Enterprise: Dilemmas and Practicalities. This presentation identifies the conditions of success of earning income through a social venture in a nonprofit, provides ways of thinking about the decision to embark on such a venture and looks at the critical steps to the nonprofit will take and the mistakes they will make all the way to making a success of earned income.
Both presentations comprise a talk by Brewster for about one hour, and questions and answers and debate. The talk also involves some degree of audience engagement and participation. They are ideal for breakfast, lunch or late afternoon sessions. The NCNE fee is $1250 (except to members of NCNE's Institutional Consortium.) Audiences have ranged from 35 to 150 (at Baruch College in NYC in mid-October.)
What people say about the presentations:
"I realize that after 40 years very little will be new BUT there is such safety in theoretical presentations. A combination with practical info - it works."
"Fantastic, personable, speaker"
